It's been more than 10 years since Shania Twain put out a full-length album of original material, but that's about to change. The country music superstar has announced that she's working on songs for a new studio project.

Twain revealed the new album in a posting to Facebook. “I will spend a lot of the summer working out what to put on my next album,” she wrote to accompany the photo above. “A break from the stage gets me back to writing the songs.”

Twain is currently on a break from her two-year residency at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, where she has been staging her 'Shania: Still the One' multi-media spectacular. Prior to that she had essentially been semi-retired since 2004, when she took a break from her career to spend time with her young son.

A very public divorce followed after she found out her husband and best friend were having an affair. In a twist of irony, Twain married her former friend's now ex-husband, Frederic Thiebaud, in 2011. Her upcoming album will presumably be the first since her 1993 self-titled debut to be produced by someone other than her former husband, mega-producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, who produced her 1995 breakthrough 'The Woman in Me' and all of her subsequent work through 1992's 'Up!'
