She's a Tony-nominated Broadway actress with a blossoming country music career, and now Laura Bell Bundy is going back to the small screen to renew her status as a TV star. The blonde beauty, whose numerous television credits include a two-year stint on 'Guiding Light,' has scored a recurring role on the hit CBS sitcom, 'How I Met Your Mother.'

Laura's character will appear alongside Robin (played by Cobie Smulders) as the co-host of the news show, 'Metro News One.' Rumors are also swirling that the character may also be one of love-plagued Ted's (played by Josh Radnor) romantic interests.

Laura certainly likes to keep her schedule full. In addition to promoting her debut album, she is also developing a project that will combine her love of both country music and theater. "It's to bring country music to Broadway," she explained of the musical she's hoping will hit the Great White Way. "I'm trying to merge those worlds together."

Laura isn't the only country star to make an appearance on 'How I Met Your Mother.' Carrie Underwood guest-starred on an episode last year as a pharmaceutical rep and love interest for Ted, while Kenny Rogers appeared as himself, singing an emotional tribute to a deceased dog.

Laura recently released her second single, 'Drop On By,' from her debut album, 'Achin' and Shakin.' She can also be found in Miranda Lambert's clever new video, 'Only Prettier,' alongside Kellie Pickler and Lady Antebellum's Hilary Scott.
