Keith Urban visited the set of 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' on Thursday, December 9, and performed his latest single, 'Put You in a Song.' After his electrifying performance, the country superstar sat down with the day-time host to discuss his past addiction with drugs and alcohol.

Keith entered rehab only four months after tying the knot with actress Nicole Kidman, which shocked his fans as well as his wife, who hadn't seen that side of her husband. But the entire time, she stayed by his side and helped him get through the difficult battle. "The truth is that I wasn't even aware of where it was at in my life and how it was just going to come down and take me down like it did," Keith told Ellen. "I was probably in such a state of denial that I consciously wasn't aware of it."

Clean and sober now for almost four years, Keith is now putting family first. He talked to Ellen about life at home with their 2-year-old daughter, Sunday Rose, who just might follow in Dad's footsteps. "She sings all the time," he said with a grin. "If [being in this business] is a natural thing for her and if she's passionate about it, then [I will] absolutely [encourage her to pursue it]."

But for now, little Sunday's stage is their piano at home, where they sit around and play songs as a family.
