It's been a month since Justin Bieber's latest album, Believe, was released, and much to the dismay of Taylor Swift fans, her duet with the pop prince was not included. While collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Drake and Ludacris appear on the project, a representative for the Canadian heartthrob is now answering the question, "What happened to the Taylor song?"

"It didn't go on Believe, because there's another record they want to work on," Bieber's manager Scooter Braun tells MTV News. "So, it just didn't make sense at this time, and the song they did just didn't make sense on this album."

The decision to drop the duet must have been a last-minute one. Just a few weeks ago, AOL Music asked the 18-year-old superstar about his most memorable experiences making Believe, and he responded that "Taylor Swift was great to work with."

Justin's girlfriend (and Taylor's close friend), Selena Gomez believes the track will eventually see the light of day. "It's beautiful," she told E! News. "It's amazing. I'm sure they'll release it at some point, because it's a really great record. It's kind of like ... it's Taylor and Justin combined. So it's a little bit of an upbeat song, but it's very acoustic."

Theirs isn't the only mash-up that didn't make the June 15 release. Justin was also expected to release tunes with Maroon 5's Adam Levine and Kanye West, but neither panned out, with the latter also receiving the explanation from Braun that it "didn't make sense at this time."
