Jaron’s Long Road Sometimes Longer Without Brother Evan
Jaron Lowenstein, the singer behind Jaron and the Long Road to Love, is climbing the charts with his witty debut country single 'Pray for You.' Music fans will remember him as part of the pop duo Evan and Jaron (with his twin brother), but when it comes to telling the two apart, Jaron says it's best to ask someone else.
"I really don't know," says the singer. "I will tell you that we're best friends, we're partners. We've always been partners. He started the band. He started me into music, in fact, he pushed me into it. I had no say! He started playing guitar and he was like, 'We're doing a band.' And I was like, 'What? We're going to college.' He said, 'Mmm mmm.' So, he's always been the rock and always led everything."
Following the Top 15 success of the duo's 2000 single, 'Crazy for This Girl,' and the release of 2004's 'Half Dozen,' which hinted at a more country-leaning direction, Evan and Jaron disbanded the duo and Evan began raising a family. The absence of Evan's leadership abilities, however, kept Jaron from pursuing a solo career for a while.
"I was thinking, 'I'm not gonna go without him.' But, then I realized that this is my time to get my vision out there. Evan's always been an incredibly hard worker -- he ran the show. He's much more rooted than I am.
"I'm a little bit out there!," he adds with a smirk. "I think they call it a free spirit. I love to have a lot of fun. I am a deep guy, but I do like to have fun. So I'm sure there will be many calls to Evan from the road to help keep me focused."
A full-length Jaron and the Long Road to Love album is expected later this year on Big Machine Records.
