Jamie Lynn Spears is following in big sister Britney's musical footsteps ... but with a little twang. The former Nickelodeon star made her country music singing debut in Nashville this week, with a live set of her own original songs.

Jamie Lynn, 20, performed at Nashville music venue the Rutledge for a crowd of family and friends, and took to her Twitter page to gush about the experience post-show. "Just wanna thank all my amazing friends and family for coming out tonight!!!" she wrote.

"I am so emotional tonight," mama Lynne Spears told People after watching her youngest daughter perform. Dad Jamie added, "We are so proud of her." Country music legend Pam Tillis was also present at Jamie Lynn's show. Britney, however, was not in attendance. She's currently touring overseas on the European leg of her Femme Fatale tour.

The youngest Spears sib has been living in Nashville with her three-year-old daughter Maddie for the past two years. If her new country career takes off, it will mark Jamie Lynn's triumphant return to the spotlight since leaving her hit TV series 'Zoey 101.' Fans may recall that 16-year-old Jamie was forced to quit the show in 2007 after announcing that she was pregnant by then-boyfriend Casey Aldridge.
