Garth Brooks stunned anchor Robin Roberts with a surprise announcement on 'Good Morning America' on Monday (Dec. 9). The country superstar announced that he will undertake a world tour with his band in 2014.

Brooks was on the show to promote his new box set, 'Blame It All on My Roots,' which debuted at No. 1 in its first week of release. During the interview, Roberts asked Brooks about the rumors that have been swirling about a tour, to which he replied, "Between you and me, I think we'll make an announcement very soon."

"If you want to, you can make it right now," she quipped, and after a brief pause, the country legend said, "Well, you know what -- since it's you, and since we've had a history forever, let's announce it. We're going on a world tour in 2014."

The live audience exploded into cheers as Roberts excitedly hugged Brooks, who said, "I can't think of a better way -- I can't believe I just did that, but you are a doll."

Brooks added that the time is right, now that the last of his children is set to graduate high school. He didn't reveal any further details of the tour, saying he plans to talk to country radio later in the week. "It sure feels good to get to throw your hat back in the ring," he noted.
