The man who threw a beer can at Dustin Lynch during his concert in Niceville, Fla., in October got an early Christmas present. Police captured the man they believe is responsible for the assault, but the 'Hell of a Night' singer has decided not to press charges against the alleged assailant.

“I decided that, on my day off, I didn’t want to file police papers," Lynch explains to Taste of Country, "and what are they going to do to the guy anyway?”

The incident occurred while Lynch was playing at the Mullet Festival in the Sunshine State.

“I was walking down the catwalk, and just, wham, out of nowhere this beer can just nailed me in the face,” he recalls. “It was a completely full can, and it felt like a baseball had hit me.”

Full can, indeed, which is why the Tennessee native required stitches after he finished his set.

“It was ice cold,” he adds. “Why would you waste a perfectly ice cold Coors Light?”

Hopefully Lynch will be able to dodge any future objects thrown his way. He wraps up his role as the headliner for the Taste of Country's Christmas Tour this month with shows in Louisiana and Texas.
