With the holidays officially in full swing, Darius Rucker is reflecting on past celebrations --including the favorite Christmas gift he's received.

"I was around 10 or 11, and I wanted a guitar, and my mom was a single parent, and we didn't have much. And my grandmother told me that I probably wasn't going to get that guitar this year, and I was cool with that," he says. "I didn't ask for it from Santa, it was just a present I wanted from Mom, and so I didn't think I was going to get it. I woke up Christmas morning, and there it was sitting in the chair right next to the Christmas tree.

"I still remember just being so excited and so happy," Rucker adds. "It was a great present because I knew how hard my mom worked to get that for me, and that was just a great present."

Rucker is celebrating the season with the release of his Christmas album, 'Home for the Holidays,' which includes a duet with Sheryl Crow. He is also preparing to release his next studio album, 'Homegrown Honey.'

'Home for the Holidays' is available on iTunes and Amazon.
