Dan + Shay took the stage during the 2015 ACM Awards, performing Nick Jonas' hits "Jealous" and "Chains" with the pop singer.

The artists originally met when they were all performing at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City last year.

The duo, made up of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, was nominated for an ACM Award for Vocal Duo of the Year this year, joining an elite list of artists that included the Brothers Osborne, Florida Georgia Line, Maddie & Tae and the Swon Brothers. But even though the trophy went to FGL, Dan + Shay say that, in their minds, they are already winners.

“Being nominated was the craziest thing ever. Just being nominated is such an honor for us,”  Mooney tells The Boot. “This is our second time being nominated, and I think it’s crazy, just for the amount of time that we’ve been together as a duo, it’s just crazy that we got nominated and this is our second year.

“It’s kind of ridiculous to us; we’re so honored and everything that we’re even nominated,” he adds. “To win would be awesome, but just to be there for free is pretty cool.”

Despite their freshman Where It All Began album landing at No. 1 and their gold-selling "19 You + Me" single hitting the Top 10, the guys admit that they still feel more starstruck than like stars.

"We fanboy out seeing all the artists, like Keith Urban and all those guys,” Smyers says. “We walk by them, and we’re like, ‘Should we get their autograph?’”

Dan + Shay are currently on their 2015 Where It All Began Tour. A list of dates is available on their website.
