CMA Music Fest Will ‘Rock’ Again in Three-Hour TV Special

Whether you were in Nashville and want to relive it or you couldn't make it and are just dying to find out what you missed, the ABC TV special, 'CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock' will put you right in the middle of all the action at this year's star-studded four--day extravaganza!

Filmed June 9-12, the three-hour special is set to air Sunday, August 7 at 8:00 PM (ET) on ABC.

Among the acts appearing will be Lauren Alaina, Jason Aldean, Sara Evans, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Scotty McCreery, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Reba, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and the Zac Brown Band.

This year marked the 40th year for the annual event, which started as Fan Fair in 1972. In 2011, there were 30 hours of autograph signings, 100 hours of live music, hundreds of artists and celebrities, 65,000 fans attending daily from every U.S. state and 27 foreign countries. This year makes the seventh time ABC will broadcast this special, which debuted in 2004 on CBS. The highly-rated special first expanded to three hours in 2009.

Last year's 'Night to Rock' was hosted by Tim McGraw. More details of this year's TV special will be revealed in the coming weeks.
