We didn't necessarily need more proof that Blake Shelton's a great guy, but we got it anyway. On Wednesday (June 17), the country artist helped save a driver stranded in a flood.

Roho Hartman was driving near Ardmore, Okla., on his way home, when he tried to cross a street that had been flooded by the rain from Tropical Storm Bill. He didn't make it and was pushing his stalled truck up a hill in waist-deep water when another man pulled up with a tow rope.

“The guy said, 'Are you ready?'" Hartman recalls to KFOR. “I thought ... that looks like Blake Shelton.”

It was, indeed, Shelton, who rescued Hartman and his car, then gave him a ride home.

"I said, 'You wouldn't believe it, Blake Shelton pulled me out,'" Hartman says he told his wife, who called while he was on his way home with Shelton. "Told her, 'You better slick up, we’ll be there in just a minute.'"

The Hartmans took a few photos with Shelton when they arrived, and then Shelton left.

“It was great," Hartman says. "He’s a good fella I think; I like him.”

Thursday (June 18) was Shelton's 39th birthday. He is scheduled to play in Columbus, Ohio, this weekend. A complete list of his upcoming concerts is available on his website.
