Alan Jackson sings the title track for the soundtrack of the new comedy, 'A Million Ways to Die in the West,' and apparently he was hand-picked by the movie's director, Seth MacFarlane.

MacFarlane, who is also producing and co-starring in the film, personally reached out to Jackson to record the song. The tune was written by MacFarlane and Emmy-award winning composer and conductor Joel McNeely.

'A Million Ways to Die in the West' boasts a star-studded cast, including Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi, Sarah Silverman and Neil Patrick Harris.

The film features MacFarlane as a cowardly sheep farmer who backs out of a gunfight, causing his girlfriend to leave him for another man. Ultimately, MacFarlane finds courage from another woman, which is quickly tested when the woman's outlaw husband arrives in town.

Jackson's latest album, 'The Bluegrass Album,' stayed at the top of the charts for an astonishing four months. He served as the headlining act for Merlefest last week, and will head to Kansas and Nebraska later this week. See all of his upcoming shows here.

'A Million Ways to Die in the West' will debut in theaters nationwide on May 30. The soundtrack will be available for purchase on May 27 here.
