On Wednesday night (Nov. 7), a lone gunman walked into the Borderline Bar & Grill, a country bar in Thousand Oaks, Calif., and killed 12 people. The venue was hosting "college country night" that evening, so many of the victims are college students or recent graduates. Two were employed at Borderline; one was a first responder who went into the building to stop the shooter.

Some of those in attendance at the Borderline Bar & Grill were also at the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting in October 2017, during which 58 people died when a gunman opened fire on the crowd from the nearby Mandalay Bay hotel. One of those people was 27-year-old Telemachus Orfanos, who was killed on Wednesday night.
