The SteelDrivers have something to be excited about: The group has earned a nomination for Best Bluegrass Album at the 2016 Grammy Awards.

"We are honored and thrilled to say the least for this recognition," says Tammy Rogers, the SteelDrivers' fiddle player, vocalist and songwriter, in a press release. "The Muscle Shoals Recordings represents our desire to continue to push ourselves as a group and bring a fresh perspective. We are a scrappy bunch of players that love what we do and send a hearty congrats to all the nominees."

The Muscle Shoals Recordings, the SteelDrivers' newest album, which earned the group its fourth Grammy Awards nod, was released over the summer and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Bluegrass Chart.

“That whole area is a whole different vibe than here in Nashville, where we recorded [our] first three [albums],” Rogers tells The Boot of Muscle Shoals, Ala., where the SteelDrivers went to record the record. “I don’t want to say that it’s slower paced or lazy … There’s just a different feel, and it just kind of put us on a different type of schedule in a way. We weren’t like, ‘Okay, up at the crack of dawn, and we gotta get this done.’

“Sometimes in Nashville, it seems like we have to adhere to a commercial kind of Nashville schedule,” she adds. “It was really nice to go down there, take a deep breath and relax a little bit and just try to soak up the ‘cool’ factor down there.”

The 2016 Grammy Awards are set to air live on CBS on Feb. 15 at 8PM ET.
