SugarlandSugarland's Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush say they are beyond excited about their upcoming tour and album, but fans will have to wait a little longer to hear the new music.

"We are not performing tomorrow night,'' said Jennifer on the eve of Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards show in Las Vegas. "We made a conscious choice not to, because we are in between record cycles right now. We're so excited for the new stuff, and we felt like we wanted to focus on that and we're a little cool on the old record. We just decided we're going to come and support the ACMs and our friends."

Fans will get their first taste of the new music on Friday (April 23) when Sugarland launches their tour at a casino that's just outside of Las Vegas, but far removed from Sunday's international television audience.

Sugarland have won four ACM awards, including last year's top vocal duo, snapping Brooks & Dunn's domination of the category. While they are not performing on Sunday, they will take part in Monday's taping of the Academy's tribute, 'Brooks & Dunn -- The Last Rodeo,' honoring the venerable partnership's announced retirement. Sugarland instantly chose to perform the B&D song 'Red Dirt Road', written and performed by their former partners on the road.

"This was our first full tour that we had gone on with another artist and being able to hear that song every night holds something special as well,'' Jennifer said.

"We will perform on Brooks & Dunn, singing for two people who absolutely should be honored and celebrated," Kristian added.

The Academy of Country Music Awards will be telecast Sunday night on CBS from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Both Sugarland and Brooks & Dunn are nominated for 2010 ACM Vocal Duo of the Year. The Brooks & Dunn All Star Concert will air May 23, also on CBS.
