Miley Cyrus and Jeffrey Steele will go head-to-head against Bruce Springsteen and Clint Eastwood among others, at this year's Golden Globe Awards. The pair earned their first-ever Golden Globe nods in the Best Original Song for a Motion Picture category as writers of 'I Thought I Lost You,' from the animated feature 'Bolt.'

Steele is one of Music City's most prolific and sought-after songwriters, penning hits for Trace Adkins, Rascal Flatts and Miley's dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, among countless others.

Miley also voices the character of Penny in 'Bolt,' which earned a nomination for Best Animated Film. It's been a big week for the teen superstar, as she also got her learner's permit on Wednesday.

The Golden Globe nominees for Best Original Song are:

'Down To Earth' from 'Wall-E' (Music by Peter Gabriel, Thomas Newman; Lyrics by Peter Gabriel).

'Gran Torino' from 'Gran Torino' (Music by Clint Eastwood, Jamie Cullum, Kyle Eastwood, Michael Stevens; Lyrics by Kyle Eastwood, Michael Stevens).

'I Thought I Lost You' from 'Bolt' (Music and lyrics by Miley Cyrus and Jeffrey Steele).

'Once in a Lifetime' from 'Cadillac Records' (Music and lyrics by Beyoncé Knowles, Amanda Ghost, Scott Mcfarnon, Ian Dench, James Dring, Jody Street)
