Lynyrd Skynyrd are postponing two August 2019 stops on their Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour as guitarist Gary Rossington recovers from heart surgery. According to a press release, Rossington experienced fatigue and other symptoms due to a leaky heart valve, and underwent a surgical procedure to repair the valve on July 31.

Rossington is expected to make a full recovery. "We all appreciate the well wishes for Gary and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused," singer Johnny Van Zant states in a press release. "But he can't wait to come back and perform at 100 percent for the fans. We will see you all soon!"

The band's Las Vegas, Nev. show originally scheduled for Aug. 16 will now take place on Oct. 18, while their Aug. 17 performance in Wheatland, Calif. has now been rescheduled for Oct. 19. Tickets originally purchased for the August dates will be honored at the rescheduled dates later in the year, and rock group Bad Company will appear as co-headlining special guests, as was billed for the original show.

The Southern rocker had quintuple bypass surgery in 2003, and also suffered a heart attack in the fall of 2015, which caused the group to cancel all tour dates for the remainder of that year. In the summer of 2016, Rossington also had to take a break from the road after suffering chest pains and having surgery to repair blockage in his arteries.
