Luke Bryan's inaugural Farm Tour show is scheduled to take place Oct. 5 in Statesboro, Ga. The singer came up with the idea for the Farm Tour as a way to give back to a charity or organization in local farming communities.

The Georgia native plans to continue staging the special one-off shows throughout his career, and already has some dates lined up for 2010. GAC will be on hand to tape their 'Top 20 Countdown' show at this year's event.

"Being from a rural farming community, the Farm Tour is something I have envisioned for a very long time," says Luke. "I love the thought of setting up on a farm and building our own little world, starting small and growing it each time. We can never do enough to bring awareness to the hard working farmers of this country."

The Oct. 5 Farm Tour event will take place at Hurricane Plantation in Claxton, Ga., a suburb of Statesboro. Monies raised at the show will help fund a scholarship for students at Georgia Southern University, Luke's alma mater. Tickets will be available beginning Sept. 10 at Luke's official website, and at Harry's BBQ & Seafood in Hagan, Ga. on Sept. 12.

The Oct. 5 concert also will also serve as the album launch for Luke's highly-anticipated sophomore album, ' Doin' My Thing,' due in stores on Oct. 6.
