Actress Lucy Hale recently signed with Hollywood Records to make her debut country album, and she's already aligned herself with one of country music's most established artists. The 23-year-old has joined forces with Sugarland's own Kristian Bush for help in making her upcoming album.

"[Sugarland's] the biggest country band out there and I don't even know how I got that," Lucy gushes to MTV. "I don't even know! I got an email about it and it was obviously a no-brainer."

It seems like the affection for each other's talent goes both ways. "Having fun writing and recording with new friend @lucyyhale," Kristian tweeted on July 3 from their writing session in Georgia. "Almost convinced her to move to Decatur for the BBQ."

The "Pretty Little Liars" star is also teaming up with some powerful industry insiders who are from entirely different genres of music. "I think I'm working with some people who have worked with Adele, which is really cool, although she's not country," she reveals. "It's sort of a lot of writers and producers who don't do a lot of country, so it's going to be a good mixture."

The Tennessee-born singer-songwriter, who now shares a label home with Grace Potter & the Nocturnals and Demi Lovato, among others, is thrilled with her new career path. "I'm overjoyed and honored to become a member of the Hollywood Records family," Lucy says. "I've admired the careers they've made and can't wait to see how my musical path is paved out."

Look for a single, as well as her album, to be released in 2013.
