In the wake of the August 13 storms that killed seven people at the Indiana State Fair just before Sugarland were set to take the stage, friend and fellow country superstar Kenny Chesney is not taking any chances. The singer has moved his show at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. from this Sunday (August 28) to this Friday (August 26), due to warnings that Hurricane Irene will make its way to the area by the end of the weekend.

"I want the last weekend of the Goin' Coastal Tour to be a great experience for everybody. But I also want it to be the safest experience for everyone," Kenny writes on his website. "I've always said Foxboro is a highlight of our tour, because the fans are ready for a great night of music and fun no matter what night it is!"

"Our first and foremost priority is the fans' safety," echoes concert promoter Louis Messina, "so we have made the difficult decision to reschedule the show."

All tickets for Sunday's show will be honored on Friday, with the exact same set-list and lineup, which includes opening performances by Zac Brown Band and Billy Currington. Those fans who now cannot make the show due to the rescheduling will get a full ticket refund.

Kenny's trip to the Boston area also includes his first-ever appearance at the CMA Songwriters Series. He'll take the stage Thursday night (August 25) at the Royale Nightclub, alongside several famed Nashville songwriters who've penned some of his biggest hits: Matraca Berg ('You and Tequila'), Brett James ('Out Last Night'), Wendell Mobley ('There Goes My Life'), Craig Wiseman ('The Good Stuff') and Bob DiPiero ('Paris, Tennessee'). You can listen in to a live broadcast of the show at CMASongwritersSeries.com or NoShoesRadio.com.
