Kenny Chesney Deemed an ‘Ambassador’

Kenny Chesney has been slated to perform at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City's Times Square, as part of the restaurant chain's 2009 Ambassadors of Rock tour.

The 'ambassadors' are an eclectic list of musicians. The Killers will begin the tour with a three-night series in London, starting on June 26, followed by Neil Young and The Pretenders on June 27, and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, plus the Dave Matthews Band on June 28. Other confirmed shows include Nine Inch Nails on August 10 in Singapore, and O.A.R along with Brett Dennen on August 27 in Orlando, FL. Kenny's New York show will rock the Big Apple on September 15.

Proceeds from Kenny's concert will be donated to PlanItNow, a charity that assists coastal residents prepare for severe storms and hurricanes in the U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean.
