When Julianne Hough walks on the set of the upcoming remake of 'Footloose,' she will already be very familiar with the role of her character, Arial Moore.

"I played Arial in high school in Park City, Utah, at the same time my brother was playing Ren McCormack on the West End in London," the dancer/singer/actress tells The Boot. "I was a big fan of that movie from the beginning, way before I knew I would audition for it ... It's really cool to have this opportunity."

Julianne will star opposite 'Gossip Girl' actor Chace Crawford, who will portray Ren in the new version of the flick. The remake will supposedly take on a more mature approach than the original feature, which starred Kevin Bacon in the lead role. The original film, about a teenager who moves to a small town where dancing and rock music are prohibited, was released in 1984. It has the distinction of producing one of the biggest-selling soundtracks of its time.

The new 'Footloose' is set to begin filming in March, with an anticipated release in late 2010.
