Julianne Hough turned 21 this week, and that's cause enough for a big celebration. But the multi-faceted entertainer, a two-time 'Dancing With the Stars' champ, also recently nabbed an Emmy nomination for choreography alongside her brother Derek Hough. And in March she starts shooting the big-screen 'Footloose' remake. But instead of a huge blowout to mark the milestone birthday, Julianne and her sweetie, fellow country star Chuck Wicks, kept things simple.

"We went wakeboarding and stuff and just kind of hung out," the blonde dynamo tells USA Today. "That's good enough for me. I don't need a big shindig."

That doesn't mean she's sitting back and relaxing for long, although her busy schedule does call for a few sacrifices, and one of those is having to quit 'Dancing.' Julianne has announced she won't be back on the show next season.

"It's hard for me because I like to do everything 110%," she admits, "and for me, trying to juggle two careers now - almost three -- I hate to do things halfway, and that's how I've been feeling."

Country fans can catch Julianne on tour with George Strait throughout the summer, along with her solo gigs sprinkled throughout. And look for the singer's sophomore album to come out next year. There's also another upcoming milestone worth celebrating- it's been nearly a year since she and Chuck, her 'Dancing' partner last season, began dating. And she's still gushing.

"He's just wonderful," she says. "He treats me like a queen, and I treat him as best as I can, too."

Julianne does have another relationship she's invested in -- a partnership with Venus razors and their "Goddess Guide," the goal of which is to help bolster the self-esteem of young girls, something Julianne admits she could have used as a teenager.

"Trust me, when I was in high school, I was not the most popular kid, I was not the most good-looking." she reveals. "People liked who I was, but I wasn't the first person they called to hang out with. I always knew what I wanted to do. I always wanted to go for my dreams and my aspirations, and I did it."

And when it comes to putting all of her talents to use, Julianne does have another singing-dancing-acting entertainer whom she emulates, saying, "I want to be like Beyoncé!"
