After returning from performing a few shows, as well as a much-publicized vacation in Italy with her reported new guy Ryan Seacrest, Julianne Hough is back to work on the set of 'Footloose.'

On Monday, Julianne took to her Twitter to reveal her anticipation on finally getting ready to begin work on the remake of the 1984 film. "So excited," Julianne types. "Headed to L.A. to start my first day of pre-production on 'Footloose!' Gonna try on the infamous red boots!!!"

In June, Julianne, who plays Ariel, was pretty stoked about the changes that had taken place in the previous few months, with a new director and a new script. "It was going to be this singing, dancing, big shebang movie, and now it's going to be more like the original and really, really holding all the key points from the movie," Julianne told The Boot. "It's great for me, because I feel like it's a real performance, acting piece for me. I don't sing or dance in it, so it's going to be really fun and challenging."

The film has even had a change in leading men. Newcomer Kenny Wormald is taking over the part of Ren McCormack, the role made famous by Kevin Bacon. He beat out more than 1,000 actors to grab the part, after Chace Crawford and Zac Efron both dropped out soon after committing to the role.

'Footloose,' which also stars Dennis Quaid as the small-town reverend and Ariel's dad, is currently slated to open in theaters next April.

Besides acting, Julianne has also just hit the airwaves with her new single, 'Is That So Wrong,' the first single from her upcoming album, expected in stores later this year.
