Jimmy Wayne Assists in a ‘Makeover’
Jimmy Wayne is polishing up his carpentry skills. The country star paid a visit last week to the set of ABC's 'Extreme Home Makeover,' on location in Montgomery, Ala., where he helped build a home for a family in need. Wayne says he was overwhelmed by the production of the TV show, as well as by the generosity of those involved.
"I never would have imagined there would be so much activity going on behind the scenes," Wayne writes on his blog. "They literally took up 2-4 blocks with motor homes, bulldozers and Porta-Jons! There were tons of people working, even a massage therapist was on site (lots of sore backs) ... It was an awesome feeling knowing that so many volunteers were involved, especially during a time when people are struggling so hard. It shows how selfless people can still be."
Wayne also threw a benefit concert in Montgomery, raising more than $2000 for the family. His 'Extreme Home Makeover' episode will air sometime next month, with an exact date to be announced soon.
