Jennifer Nettles offered a jaw-dropping duet with Rihanna at last month's ACM Awards, adding the pop bombshell to her impressive list of genre-bending collaborators, which includes Bon Jovi, Beyoncé, James Taylor and John Legend. Although the Sugarland lead singer possesses a twang undeniably suited for country music, Jennifer admits a deep appreciation for all formats of music.

"I love singing all kinds of music and I have a bit of musical ADD," Jennifer confesses to the Star Tribune. "I like to play around with different textures and colors and parts of my instrument. I have a lot of different musical influences. As long as you're being yourself, the fans learn to respect it and trust it."

The singer's self-confessed diagnosis can be easily observed during the dynamic duo's current Incredible Machine tour. In addition to pop artists Sara Bareilles and Matt Nathanson as opening acts, the 'Tonight' singers close their set with Madonna's 'Like a Prayer' with tour mates Little Big Town, leaving some to speculate where Jennifer and Kristian draw inspiration for their eclectic live show.

"Yes, absolutely!" Jennifer quips when asked about the similarities between her musical tastes and that of a gay man. "What's not to love about that? If people ask me, 'What are your musical tastes?' from now on I will say that of a gay man. [laughs]"

With all the talk about new collaborations and diverse musical preferences, fans may wonder what the future has in store for the reigning ACM Duo of the Year. While Jennifer doesn't rule out the possibility of solo projects, the singer dismisses any immediate plans for them.

"If it happens, it happens. Kristian and I are definitely supportive of each other in our individual explorations and forays," Jennifer explains. "Do I have any specific plans? No. It's a valid question, and I like it because I'm sure there will come a time when both of us will do it."

The two are keeping their musical marriage strong as their Incredible Machine tour continues it's cross-country trek into the summer months. Click here to find information about ticket availability.
