Jaron’s Lookin’ Like a Fool With His Pants on the Ground

Jaron of Jaron and the Long Road to Love is currently in the midst of opening a string of dates for Trace Adkins and Toby Keith on the American Ride tour. Like any country tour these days, pranks are aplenty. Unfortunately for Jaron, those pranks are usually on him!

"I get pranked every night by Toby's guys," Jaron tells The Boot. "They prank me all the time and mess with me. It's great; I love them. Obviously they have to like me, otherwise they wouldn't feel comfortable doing it."

Jaron recently decided that it was time for a little payback. "We were in St. Louis, and it was, like, 150 degrees outside. That might be a little bit of an exaggeration, but I wanted to go mess with the production guys," Jaron explains with a smile. "Their room was next to mine. So I pulled down my pants from my room, and I was walking with my pants around my ankles. I walked [into their room], and I was going to ask them, 'Hey does Toby sell hot pants because it's so hot ... I just wanted to get some shorts.'"

As Jaron entered the production room, his prank was well on its way to working. "Then, the production manager goes, 'Hey Jaron, have you met Trace?' I hadn't at that point. So I turn around, and Trace was standing there. He gives me that smirk, like, 'You're an idiot.' I was [thinking], 'Uhh ... yeah, I kind of am.' That prank went back on me real fast. I pulled up my pants, and I was like, 'Nice to meet you, sir ...'"

So far, Jaron says he hasn't had a chance to clear the air with Trace. "If I'm Trace Adkins, I don't think I'm going to look for me on tour any time soon! 'Hey, does somebody know where that kid with his pants down is?' I've hung out with Toby a couple of times briefly. I hang out mostly with the crew. I've always been the guy who jumps on the crew bus for the overnight's because they're always fun."
