Jana Kramer made the seamless switch from successful actress to record-breaking country star, when her debut single, "Why Ya Wanna" became the most-added song of a debut artist since the inception of the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart. Her instant welcome to the genre is something the 28-year-old is still trying to absorb.

"It's unbelievable," she tells The Boot. "It really is. The fact that I'm being embraced the way that I am, it's a great feeling. I'm just riding the wave right now."

The former "One Tree Hill" star faced plenty of skeptics when she announced her decision to leave the hit show to focus on her true passion, but feels her recent achievements, including watching "Why Ya Wanna" soar into the Top 20, only validates her decision to focus on music.

"It's like, 'You know what? You did the right thing,'" Jana explains. "I know I'm going to have bad days and songs that won't do as well maybe, but I'm going to keep working hard, and I'm not going to give up."

The Michigan native will have plenty of time this summer to take notes on how to succeed in country music from her tour boss, Brad Paisley, who invited her to hit the road with him on the second leg of his Virtual Reality tour.

"I'm absolutely in love with it. I love Brad. He's a gracious artist," gushes the songstress. "He's so wonderful. He took us bowling!"

So has Jana thought of a joke to play on the perennial prankster? "I'm working on a prank," she warns. "I haven't figured it out, but I'm working on it."

Jana's self-titled debut album hit shelves last week. Order a copy here, and see the list of concert dates here.
