James Otto hopes to have a new album out later this year, but while fans wait for that to happen, they can still get a sampling of his songwriting, thanks to the Zac Brown Band. The group released "No Hurry," co-written by James, with Zac and Wyatt Durrette as the fifth single from their album You Get What You Give, earlier this year. The song peaked at No. 2 in June.

"We had a big ol' hit with it, which was amazing," James tells WYCD radio's Steve Grunwald. "It was a song that we wrote a couple of years ago ... they had been telling me all along [that] it's gonna be a single, and when they got to the fourth single and it wasn't a single yet, I was like, it's not gonna happen."

James, whose last album was 2010's Shake What God Gave Ya, was delayed in the progress of his new album by a flood that occurred at his home studio, thanks to a sprinkler malfunction. With the studio now repaired and back to normal, he's spending as much time there as he can. But, of course, he's also relishing his time as a first-time dad to Ava Katherine, who turned 2 this week.

"When she came along, I realized it was time to slow down and focus on what really mattered to me in this life," he said earlier this year. "And that was being there for those unrepeatable moments of her first steps, words and discoveries ... and I'm still in 'no hurry' to let those little moments go."
