Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" is at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the 15th nonconsecutive week, beating out Whitney Houston's iconic hit "I Will Always Love You," which spent 14 weeks at the top spot back in 1992.

Although it's obvious that Langley has talent, some people are scratching their heads, wondering how the heck she became so famous so fast.

Experts Say Ella Langley's Commercial Success is Attributed to Her Faith + Authenticity

Langley has continued to publicly discuss her Christian faith and Alabama upbringing.

Music and branding experts say that's one of the big reasons Langley has had not only country success, but has commercially crossed over into the pop genre of music as well.

Fox News spoke with veteran country music journalist Marcus K. Dowling, who told them that Langley's appeal is an extension of country music's oldest traditions.

"Look at the back to back to back moment for Langley. It's a tale of how to break a star in on country that's as old as the genre is: A duet with a more established male performer," Dowling says. "A discovery, by the genre's fanbase, that her authentically rooted musicality is real, and pairs well with her spotlight-ready cosmetic appeal."

He continues, "Then, a song that ties a female performer to an emotive core defined by lovestruck universal yearnings. From Patsy Cline singing 'Crazy' through to Dolly and 'Jolene,' Gretchen Wilson's 'Redneck Woman' and more. What Ella's doing has a long lineage of always working when executed with intentionality, honesty and precision."

Most recently, Langley got candid about her faith and humility on "This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von." She said her church was very small and started in a barn, with services every Sunday and Wednesday, that she attended until she was 18 years old.

Doug Eldridge, founder of Achilles PR, said Langley's success also stems from her humility: "Humility and self-deprecation go a long way when it comes to connecting with fans. In the end, authenticity is a lot like humidity — you can't see it, but you can feel it; when you do, it's undeniable."

Ella Langley's Mainstream Appeal

Ella Langley has become a household name, expanding beyond music at this point. She now has her own line of clothes at American Eagle and, according to Holler, was named American Eagle's "Denim Darling" and became the face of a major 2026 campaign.

The 15 Best Ella Langley Songs

She's continued to dominate with hits like "Weren't For the Wind" and the crossover mega-hit "Choosin' Texas," becoming one of the most high profile acts in country music and a bonafide star even beyond the genre.
