Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets' cause of death was suicide, according to the Mohave County Medical Examiner's Office in Arizona.

  • Darrell Sheets died on April 22 at 67 years old.
  • At the time, it was reported that his apparent cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
  • Sheets appeared on over 150 episodes of Storage Wars, where he earned the nickname "The Gambler."

Darrell Sheets Reportedly Faced Online Bullying Before His Death

In the days after Sheets' death, some of his co-stars claimed that Sheets faced brutal cyberbullying.

Laura Dotson, Storage Wars' auctioneer, said that his family told her it had been going on for about three years.

"He was terrified for his life [and] for the people around him. He didn't know why he was being targeted," Dotson told Us Weekly.

Another co-star, Rene Nezhoda, claimed that an online bully impersonated Sheets with "phone calls, messages, emails, websites."

Dave Hester, who was one of Storage Wars' best-known bidders and is famous for his "Yuuup!" catchphrase, shared a social media video expressing condolences to Sheets' friends and family.

He also said that he tries to ignore negativity and bullying online, but "if it's happening or did happen, I hope that it's taken care of the way it should be."

TMZ previously reported that the Lake Havasu Police Department is aware of claims of cyberbullying against Sheets, and "that is a part of the active investigation."

Darrell Sheets' Son + Fellow Storage Wars Star Brandon Sheets Shares Emotional Tribute

Last week, Darrell Sheets' son Brandon — who appeared with him on Storage Wars for several seasons — shared an emotional post about his father's death.

"My heart is so broken," Brandon wrote.

"I love you Dad and will do my best to live in your honor and respect our Family," he continued. "Let's all continue to build those memories and keep the legacy that is 'Darrell (The Gambler) Sheets.'"

Brandon also said he needed time to process the tragedy and remember his dad, and wasn't ready to address public questions or concerns.
