Jelly Roll on Doing a Half Marathon This Year: ‘I May Have Overshot’
In May, Jelly Roll said he was setting his sights on doing a half-marathon before the end of the year — a daunting task for anyone, let alone someone who is untrained for the task.
During a recent sit-down with Jelly forTaste of Country Nights On Demand With Evan Paul, and we asked the star if he's still up for the challenge. He admits ... probably not.
"I may have overshot," Jelly says.
"I was telling somebody, when I say next year I mean next, Turkey Day. Like a Thanksgiving half marathon," he clarifies.
"I woke up and walked two miles this morning and it was brutal. I was like, 'I gotta put another 11 on that, and jog?!'" the "Save Me" singer continues.
In chatting about training for a grueling half marathon and whether Jelly Roll has a goal weight in mind, he says, "Nah, I just want to feel better."
The country singer has been doing a lot of work on himself lately: He got some heavy dental work done, getting brand new veneers earlier this year. He has also seen notable weight loss in the past few months, and his fans have commended him for that, too.
Jelly Roll has a string of shows that will keep him busy through the end of the year.
Evan Paul is the host of Taste of Country Nights, a syndicated radio show heard on more than 130 country radio stations nationwide, every night from 7PM to midnight.
