"They said it will probably get worse [the] next 48 hours," Brown shared on Instagram Story, "but I'm [alive] and that's all that matters."

Jason Aldean Says Kane Brown Is 'Tough as a Pine Knot' After Golfing Accident
Aldean was a guest on Country Countdown USA with Lon Helton where he was asked about his pal's golfing injury and if he had reached out to him about it.

The "Dirt Road Anthem" singer said "My wife asked, ‘Did you hear Kane got hit by a golf ball?’ I didn’t realize how bad it was. It was like 150 miles an hour to the back of his ear. I figured one popped him on top of the head. I sent him a text right after that. I love Kane, I hate that happened to him, but he’s tough as a pine knot, so he’ll be fine."
What Does Tough As A Pine Knot Mean?
A pine knot is extremely tough. It's the dense, resin-soaked section of wood where a branch grows out of the trunk. Because it's packed with resin and tightly grained, it's much harder than the surrounding wood.
So Aldean is basically saying that Brown and his head are as tough and dense as a resin-soaked tree trunk... pretty dang tough if you ask me. That's why the Southern expression "tough as a pine knot" means someone is exceptionally rugged, resilient, and hard to hurt.
Can A Golf Ball Kill You?
Yes. A golf ball traveling around 150 mph can be fatal if it strikes someone in a vulnerable area, particularly the head or neck, like the one that hit Brown.
A typical golf ball weighs about 1.6 ounces (45.9 grams). At 150 mph, it carries enough energy to cause:
- Skull fractures
- Severe traumatic brain injury
- Neck injuries
- Internal bleeding
Brown isn't exaggerating when he says he is lucky to be alive.
