Country music is a unique genre of music in many different ways. There are a ton of tours that hit the road with supporting acts. All major touring acts, like Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll and Luke Combs, have new artists that open for them to warm up the crowd.

When you're coming up in country music, and you score an opener gig for a major artist, it can only do wonders for your career.

One of the things that makes country music so different is that the tour headliners, at the end of the tour, usually gift their tour openers with something special as a thank you for their support.

This Star Gives Tour Openers an Envelope Full of Cash at Tour's End

Up-and-coming country artist Dylan Schneider stopped by the Taste of Country Nights studio to chat it up with host Evan Paul, and touring was the topic of conversation.

Schneider has been an opening act for many major tours in the past few years: Florida Georgia Line, Morgan Wallen, Kane Brown, Scotty McCreery and Nate Smith, to name a few.

Schneider was asked who gives their openers the best end-of-tour gift. He understood the assignment and spilled the tea.

Schneider said that Nate Smith gave him the best end-of-tour gift: "It was some straight cash."

Schneider said that Smith handed him the envelope and said, "'I know it's expensive to be out here. and I just wanted to...'

"He gave me a five-dollar Canadian bill on the outside of an envelope."

Schneider was giggling as he continued with the story. "And then, I opened up the card, and there was some money in there. Cold, hard cash."

Paul gently asked what kind of money we were talking here, which Schneider described perfectly. "I wanna put that into ... I been saving it, and I wanna buy myself something with it. It'll be that memory, ya know?"

Schneider wrapped up the hype session on Smith by saying, "It was sweet, he just knows there's a lot that goes into it, he wanted to compensate for us being out there."

Schneider hits the road this fall with Luke Bryan and Kane Brown, among others, so stay tuned to see if that tour gift from Smith will be topped.
