Hunter Hayes helped kick off the 2015 Grammy Awards by hosting the Premiere Ceremony, a pre-telecast ceremony recognizing winners in multiple categories.

Hayes entered the Premiere Ceremony stage in style, dressed to the nines and with his guitar in tow, busting into a solo performance with some light backup from the on-stage band.

"I've got to say this, this is so exciting!" Hayes exclaimed about hosting the event, before announcing the first winner of the evening, for Best New Age Artist, with a huge grin on his face.

The 2015 Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony streamed live online worldwide, giving music fans a chance to hear from the winners in the over 70 categories that aren't part of the Grammys' main ceremony. The Premiere Ceremony was Hayes' first hosting gig, and he tells The Boot that he was a mixture of nerves and excitement leading up to the evening.

“I’ve always wanted to host something, and it was really special to get that invite from the Grammys,” he says. “I got really nervous, actually. I was so excited about the opportunity and got really nervous because I realized it’s a pretty important job … [but] I’m really, really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a special night.”
