Jerrod Niemann, Trent Harmon and More Ready for Craig Campbell’s Celebrity Cornhole Challenge
Been practicing your beanbag-throwing skills during tailgates? Craig Campbell is hosting his fifth annual Celebrity Cornhole Challenge during the 2017 CMA Music Festival, and fans will have a chance to play the game against country stars and other celebrities to help raise money for a worthy cause.
Campbell's 2017 Celebrity Cornhole Challenge is scheduled to begin at 2:30PM on June 6, at City Winery in Nashville. Dee Jay Silver, Trent Harmon, NASCAR driver Scott Lagasse Jr., Jackie Lee, Love and Theft, Jerrod Niemann, Parmalee, Michael Ray and Thompson Square are all signed up to play in the name of charity; all proceeds from the event will go to Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC), an organization that "works to increase awareness, education and research for colorectal cancer, the second-leading cause of cancer deaths among adults."
“My dad was 36 years old when he died with colon cancer. When I was old enough to realize what caused his death, I started digging and asking questions, because I didn’t want it to happen to me, for many reasons, especially after I became a dad,” Campbell shares with The Boot. “I didn’t know my dad that well, because he died when I was a kid. I don’t want my kids to have to deal with that … It’s easy: Get screened. Colon cancer is very preventable, as long as you catch it soon enough.”
Following the Celebrity Cornhole Challenge, Campbell will host the One Million Strong benefit; the night includes a cocktail reception and live and silent auctions, in addition to music from Campbell and Rivers Rutherford. Fans looking to get into the action of the day's events or bid on the chance to play in the Celebrity Cornhole Challenge can do so by visiting the event's official website; tickets and more information about the One Million Strong benefit are also available online.
