Gloriana fans were shocked to learn earlier this week that band member Cheyenne Kimball had abruptly decided to leave the band. But perhaps no one was more astonished by the announcement than the remaining Gloriana members -- Tom Gossin, Mike Gossin and Rachel Reinert.

"This came as much of a surprise to us as it did everyone else," Tom tells Nashville's Tennessean newspaper. "We were saddened and hurt. Bands are like relationships between two people, there are trials and tribulations along the way and you do your best to live and make music together and that's what we were doing. It feels almost like being left at the altar."

The bandmates reveal that their first indication that something was wrong was following a show Friday night (July 8) in Missouri, when Cheyenne failed to return to the bus after the concert. The only communication they received from the now-former member came via Twitter, when she wrote early Saturday morning, "Fans, I'm no longer going to be a part of Gloriana. It's been a great 4 years and thank you for all of ur support. See u soon."

In spite of her sudden exit, the remaining trio insist they wish her only the best. "Cheyenne has been a close member of our family for four years and for something this big and bold to go down ... we want her to be happy, even if everybody didn't know how or why she was unhappy," Tom notes.

Gloriana have already recorded much of their upcoming sophomore album as a foursome. There's no word yet on whether they'll return to the studio to re-record the project without Cheyenne's vocals. Regardless, the band promise greater maturity on the project. "The first album was a learning experience, and we're still learning, but this one I feel like we have much more of a sense of who we are as people, who we are as artists," Rachel tells The Boot. "We've been out on the road three years, and we have a lot of ideas in our head that we're ready to get out. We're doing a lot of writing. We know what our identity is and what we want to do for this record."

Their debut single from the upcoming album, 'Wanna Take You Home,' is already in the Top 40 and climbing. Watch the sexy video for the song below.
