Big Kenny, Electro Shine: ‘Dance Upon the Solid Ground’ Is Latest Genre-Bending Exercise
Big Kenny, whose country fans know him best as one-half of the multi-platinum-selling duo Big & Rich, has been breaking down musical walls for years, seamlessly blending genres in a unique way. His latest project, Electro Shine, fuses EDM (electronic dance music), Americana, country, reggae, rock, pop and hip-hop to create what he calls a "feel good" musical experience. The new project takes inspiration from his roles in the Muzik Mafia and Freak Parade and introduces a new music model embracing "Muzika Without Prejudice."
Released through Kenny's Glotown Records, "Dance Upon the Solid Ground" is the debut single from Electro Shine, which features Big Kenny, CheBacca (the "Maestro of Electro") and string duo ChessBoxer. The tune is being is released worldwide, accompanied by a lyric video. (Watch below).
More Electro Shine singles will be released in the coming months, with contributions from such artists as Ky-Mani Marley and KJ Marley, son and grandson, respectively, of reggae legend Bob Marley; hick-hop performer Cowboy Troy; singer, dancer and fiddle player Megan Mullins; and musician/songwriter/producer Dave Stewart, best known for his work as one-half of pop duo Eurythmics.
