Wynonna will be spreading holiday cheer a little early this year, in honor of American soldiers. 'Holiday Notes: A Christmas Tribute for the Troops' will be filmed at Nashville's famed Opry House on October 6, featuring the country singer and a guest list that includes members of the Tennessee National Guard, Arnold Air Force Base and Fort Campbell Army post.

"The military way for me is the American way," Wynonna tells Nashville's Tennessean newspaper. "Regardless of who I am voting for or what's going on in this country, the military families have taught me something that I didn't know, and that is that they are a grateful family. They support each other, they are loyal, they are committed, and when the going gets tough, the tough get going."

While it may be a little early to get into the Christmas spirit, Wynonna doesn't think she'll have a problem getting in a festive mood. "You have to remember, I've been living in a fantasy world for 24 years," she says. "I walked into a studio in June that was decorated for Christmas. It's much like (sister) Ashley's acting. She told me, 'Acting is living truthfully in imaginary circumstances.' Whether it's June or January, I'm so available and you can access me pretty easily in terms of emotion, whether it's a Christmas song or a Judds' song."

Wynonna will perform with the Band of the Air Force Reserve and the Air Force Strings during the holiday special, which will air on the American Forces Radio and Television Service. For more information on the event, visit www.wynonna.com.
