"I wrote a new gospel song. It's called 'Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die,'" Willie Nelson told Farm Aid concertgoers before launching into the rollicking country tune. Celebstoner.com reports that the new song will serve as the title track for an upcoming project, due out in January. (Watch fan footage of Willie's 'Roll Me Up' performance below.)

Despite a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a $500 fine stemming from his Nov. 26, 2010 arrest, Willie remains candid about his recreational hobby. When explaining the ordeal to Rolling Stone, he says, "I had been in California hanging out for a while, and my bus had come out to pick me up because we had a couple of tour dates. I had forgotten that there was this little bag of weed on the bus that had been in the back there for weeks when I had been gone ... Naturally, when they stopped us, the dogs came on and the first thing they went to was that little bag of pot."

If the song will indeed serve as the title track of a new album, it will be one of many projects the Redheaded Stranger has on tap for the next year. He is planning an album of classics with renowned producer James Stroud and is also in talks with Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson to record a collaborative project.
