Tyler Farr's 'Whiskey in My Water' is the singer's second single to hit No. 1, but it's the first song that he's written that's made its way to the top.

“I write country music for country music fans,” he tells Radio.com. “I write about the country lifestyle and what I know about. I don’t know if I’ll ever completely figure out women. Actually, I know I won’t. I may have figured out whiskey.”

The song, written by Farr with Phillip LaRue and John Ozier, hit the top of the Mediabase Country Airplay chart. According to Farr, the songwriting trio were at a writing retreat in East Tennessee when the song came out.

“It’s just a song about a country guy telling a girl that he loves her and what he thinks about her and doesn’t know how to quite say it so he says she’s the moon in his shine and the whiskey in his water," he says.

Farr is currently on the road playing summer dates on Jason Aldean's Burn It Down Tour. A full list of dates is available here.
