Tyler Farr got an early Christmas present. The singer learned that his latest single, 'Redneck Crazy,' earned platinum status, signifying sales in excess of one million units.

The song is the title track of his freshman album, which was released in September. That record is currently the highest-charting debut album on the Billboard Country Albums chart for 2013.

“From the moment I first heard this song, I knew we had something unique and different," Farr explains of the tune. "The edge it brought to the table, lyrically and musically, took me to a time where I felt those emotions, which is why we write and sing country music, to make people feel something, and thankfully, country music fans did. I am very humbled by this entire experience and will continue to write, sing and record country music for country music fans and country music radio.”

'Redneck Crazy' was written by Chris Tompkins, Josh Kear and Mark Irwin. Farr co-wrote his new single, 'Whiskey in My Water,' which became the most-added song at radio the week it was released.

The good news continues for the 29-year-old. He is also one of the nominees to be part of the prestigious Country Radio Seminar New Faces Show, which will be held in Nashville on Feb. 21 as part of the annual CRS event. The showcase allows new artists a chance to perform in front of the music industry's most influential decision makers. Voting is open until Nov. 27.

Farr is currently on the road with Florida Georgia Line on their Here's to the Good Times Tour. He will hit the road with Jason Aldean next year. Keep track of all of his upcoming shows here.
