Texas' Turnpike Troubadours recently made their Austin City Limits debut, and the episode will premiere on Saturday night (Feb. 17). The Boot's readers don't have to wait that long to get a peek at their performance, however: Press play above to watch the band's performance of their song "The Housefire."

Turnpike Troubadours' ACL debut opens with "The Housefire," the lead song from their newest album, A Long Way From Your Heart. The six-song set that will air as part of the Troubadours' Austin City Limits also includes the new tracks "A Tornado Warning" and "Something to Hold on To," as well as three songs from the band's back catalog.

Turnpike Troubadours -- lead singer Evan Felker, fiddle player Kyle Nix, steel and electric guitarist Ryan Engleman, bass player RC Edwards, drummer Gabe Pearson, and steel and accordion player Hank Early -- are pros at leveraging every part of their music to help tell their stories. Throughout their four albums, the band has used a running cast of characters to weave a narrative for their dedicated listeners.

"We're telling stories, and anything that we can do to give that a bit of a landscape in the listener's mind, or give it action, I think that supports the story," Felker tells The Boot. "We're trying to be descriptive with every aspect of the song, or support the story in some manner."

Saturday's Austin City Limits episode will also feature a set from Chris Stapleton. Visit ACLTV.com to find out when the episode will air in your area.
