Trace Adkins has a new album coming out in 2016, and he's shared its first single, "Jesus and Jones."

Written by Tyler Farr, Jim McCormick and Casey Beathard and produced by Mickey Jack Cones, "Jesus and Jones" will officially hit radio on Jan. 19. Adkins has been playing the single live during some recent shows; press play on the video below to hear an in-concert performance of the song.

“That’s where I am. I’ve always been in that place. I started out singing gospel music and then found myself singing George Jones songs in a beer joint," Adkins tells Taste of Country. "So you have this kind of struggle there internally between those two things. Sometimes I’m a good boy, sometimes I’m not.”

Adkins has not yet revealed a released date for or other details of his upcoming record, but he has said that he will be pulling material from his experiences over the past few years:

“I’ve had plenty of time to document some of the trials that I’ve been through … might as well sing about them,” Adkins says. “It seems to help a bit.”
