Toby Keith co-wrote "Lost You Anyway," the third single from his That Don't Make Me a Bad Guy album, with Bobby Pinson. Released in March of 2009, the song peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Below, Pinson tells The Boot about writing the tune.

Toby and I were writing right up until it was time for him to shower before the show. I knew when he went to do his show that there were about three lines that were kind of dangling by a string. He knew it, too; we just didn't talk about it.

He comes back from the concert and goes, "I've got the line!" We tweaked those lines a little bit, and it wound up making the song what it is.

The song means I could have done everything that was going to be right for you, but it was going to be wrong for me. Then, because of that, I wouldn't be somebody you wanted to love. Me trying to be who you thought you wanted me to be was going to wind up me being somebody I didn't want to be. That's just not meant to be. I would have lost you because of it.
