Despite reports to the contrary, Tim McGraw says he did not slap a female fan at a recent concert in Atlanta.

McGraw was performing at Aaron's Amphitheatre at Lakewood in Atlanta on Sunday (July 13), and during 'Truck Yeah,' he went forward to slap hands with fans at the edge of a catwalk that extended from the stage. TMZ posted the video above, which shows a female fan grabbing at the singer, who then appears to lose his balance. The site reported that McGraw "ferociously slapped" the woman in the face.

In the following statement to Billboard, a representative for the singer denies that's what happened.

"At the end of the night during the encore, Tim was singing out in the audience and someone firmly grabbed onto his leg and wouldn't let go as he was moving through the crowd. He instinctively swatted to try and keep them from ripping his jeans (which they succeeded at doing), and so he could get to more fans who were trying to slap hands with him before the end of the show. He didn't know who had grabbed him and was trying to keep his pants from being torn."

A second video that shows the interaction with the fan from a different angle has since been posted, clearly showing that she did, in fact, tear McGraw's pants.

Security ejected the fan from the concert just moments after the incident took place.
