Tim McGraw is calling his fans to action to help victims of the recent flooding in his home state of Louisiana. On Monday (Aug. 22), the country star posted a video on his social media channels, asking viewers to get involved in any way they can.

"My home state of Louisiana has been devastated for the second time this year by terrible floods," says McGraw -- a native of Delhi, La. -- in the simple, black-and-white clip. "Please join the relief effort by donating to many worthwhile causes."

In the aftermath of heavy rains that resulted in extreme flooding, damage to over 40,000 homes and at least 13 deaths, the American Red Cross is calling Louisiana's flooding the worst national disaster since Super Storm Sandy in 2012.

"So many people’s lives have been disrupted, and the recovery is just beginning. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected," McGraw writes in the caption of his video on Instagram. "I’m calling on everyone to pull together and help out with the relief efforts that are underway. There are so many ways to support — from volunteering to donating to the many great organizations such as the Baton Rouge Area Foundation or the Second Harvest Food Bank. The road to recovery will be long, but know, Louisiana, that we will be there for you."

Fellow country artist Meghan Linsey, a native of Ponchatoula, La., has also asked fans to help out in any way they can. The singer launched a GoFundMe page for monetary donations and, on Aug. 18, collected donations in Nashville and drove them to her hometown.

Readers can visit the websites for the Baton Rouge Area Foundation and the Second Harvest Food Bank to donate or learn more about volunteering opportunities.
