Sugarland Perform at Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony

Their performance at the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize ceremony last night (Dec. 11) in Oslo, Norway, took Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush to a renowned international stage. The superstar country duo performed their mega-hits 'Tonight' and 'Stuck Like Glue' at the event, which honored three incredible women. (Watch an interview and clips from the performance below.) Sharing a vision of world peace on a universal level, Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleak, Liberian women's rights activist Leymah Gbowee and democratic activist Tawakkul Karmen of Yemen all accepted the prestigious award as they urged action for world peace through solidarity.

Just before taking the stage, Jennifer shared Sugarland's elation over performing before the three inspiring ladies. "We are thrilled to be here for these women who everyday worked so hard to help people find their votes and hope to humbling raise ours to celebrate with them," said the singer (quote via examiner.com).

Sugarland ranked 13th on Billboard's year-end Top Country Artists countdown on the strength of their Top 5 single, 'Stuck Like Glue,' as well as their highly successful Incredible Machine headlining tour. The album of the same name has been certified platinum, signifying sales of more than one million copies.

What can fans expect next from the award-winning duo? "We're in the resting process," Jennifer told reporters backstage after November's CMA Awards. "We just got off tour two weeks ago after two years on the Incredible Machine tour, and after quite a tumultuous year, to say the least, we are taking a few months just to chill, relax and contemplate how we want to approach what's next."
