Steve Wariner's 28-year-old nephew Matt, who was killed in a car wreck in April, was given a moving musical tribute on Sunday, July 18, in Noblesville, Ind. Steve, Lee Brice and more than a dozen bands performed before an estimated 4,000 fans who attended the 12-hour festival in celebration of Matt's life at the Noblesville Moose Lodge.

The event was a benefit to raise money for a music scholarship for graduating seniors in Matt's name at Noblesville High School, where Matt took guitar lessons and graduated in 2000, according to the Indianapolis Star. Steve performed 'The Weekend' for the winning bidder who paid $1,900 for his guitar during a live auction, and other guitars signed by Toby Keith and Garth Brooks raised $4,000 and $2,600 for the cause. Over $13,000 was raised for the scholarship fund, and an anonymous donor will reportedly match the funds raised.

Steve's sons, Ross and Ryan, were on hand to say goodbye to their cousin as well, and a tombstone was erected during the weekend's events. Noblesville city officials also presented Matt's parents Kenny and Carol with a framed Street Dance poster from 2004, the year Matt was the opening act for the event.
